Afwell combines the expertise of Pastor Carl Meyer and his wife Dr Darleen Edwards-Meyer. Darleen is a wife, mother, author, trainer, counselor. Her field of expertise include Sexuality, HIV & AIDS and Life skills Education. Teaching Sexuality God's Way, building sexual character and restoring family and community values form the foundation of the ministry. Her main goal is to assist and guide people towards achieving sexual health, wellness and wholeness. Her years as a senior lecturer at two South African Universities paved the way for her to become involved in developing and presenting courses and learning programmes in these areas which include several official South African programmes for the Departments of Education and Health. It is estimated that 14,000 educators, health workers, master trainers etc have been trained in these programmes. Darleen has 16 years practical hands on experience in a holistic approach to the management of HIV & AIDS which includes prevention and care and support of persons infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. Carl has been in full-time ministry for more than fourteen years and has also pastored his own church. He has traveled extensively as a missionary/evangelist in Africa and Europe providing him with insight and experience regarding the needs of communities such as the disintegration of families, poverty, unemployment, HIV & AIDS etc. |
